Skydiver Has Seizure In The Sky… THIS Is Why You Need A Wingman!

Parachute? Check. Second chute? Check. Safety gear? Check. Consciousness? Hmmm

The dude you’re about to see is 22 year-old Chris Jones from Perth, Australia, and this incredible footage shows him having an epileptic seizure shortly after jumping out of a plane at 9,000 feet.

9,000 feet! That’s the height of six Empire State Buildings and eleven King Kongs! Not a height you’d want to slip out of consciousness, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Luckily for Chris, his quick-thinking instructor was on hand to come hurtling to his rescue. Check out what happened…

“He rolled over and was unconscious on his back and he started spinning,” said Sheldon McFarlane, Chris’s mid-air savior. ‘I thought he was having sensory overload or something, I wasn’t quite sure what was going on. He was in the fetal position.”

Sheldon drew on twenty years skydiving experience to get to the stricken young man as they both plummeted towards the ground. “I thought it would be better to go down and make him stop,” he said. “I just wanted to make sure he was safe and his parachute was open sooner rather than later.”

Don’t worry, Superman. Sheldon’s got this.

Chris regained consciousness at 3,000 feet and managed to land safely. He later told reporters:

“I’ve always wanted to have the feeling of flight, so I just thought, considering I can’t fly a plane due to my condition, I thought I’d give it a go.”

Maybe it’s time to take up a less hazardous hobby, eh Chris?

What do you think?
